Intramural sports coordinator dedicates her work to sports, student development

Emilee Howard picked up a basketball as a small 2-year-old and never put it down. Now, 30-year-old Howard is traveling across the country to officiate national sports tournaments.As UCF’s Intramural Sports and RWC Park coordinator, Howard does more than just coordinate programs. She is also committed to student development. From painting the fields of the RWC Park to training students how to officiate, she goes above and beyond.

Local, family-owned pharmacy goes beyond filling prescriptions and contributes to the community through customer service. In 2022, shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic, 64-year-old Reidy Williams was denied his wife’s medication at a chain pharmacy.

The start of the new year often prompts health checkups, even for family pets.
Liz Andrade, a veterinarian at Winter Park Veterinary Hospital, said identifying the problem with a pet’s allergies can be more difficult than it seems because of multiple factors.

From being a radio mascot to producing “The Jazz Flower” program in Maine, Sufiyah “Saylove” Yasmine joined WUCF in May, 2024, to work as the station’s afternoon jazz radio host.
Saylove, who prefers to be identified by her radio name, started her radio journey producing at WMPG, a radio station at the University of Southern Maine. After taking a sabbatical and working freelance, she said it was hard to find a jazz host opening that checked all her boxes.

Buckets were overflowing Saturday morning, Sept. 20, as volunteers walked around Loch Haven to pick up trash for the 40th International Coastal Cleanup Day with Keep Orlando Beautiful.

UCF's Mediation Team builds bonds and skills for students downtown

Tears welled up in Kelly Strom's eyes as she acted as a movie star with lupus during one of UCF's Mediation Team tournaments last year. Strom, senior legal studies major, played the role of a client who was being defamed for using drugs when she was taking medication for her illness. Kansas State University clawed a 93-67 victory from UCF women's basketball Wednesday, tacking an eighth defeat onto the Knights' losing streak.The defeat at Addition Financial Arena marked the Knights' 13th loss against a conference opponent, compared to just two conference wins.
